Don’t you just hate it when you stumble upon a limited edition product that just WOWs you? Add in extremely affordable price (we’re talking $5 here) and you get a recipe for empty shelves. Without further ado, let me introduce you to Wet n Wild megaglo Highlighting Powder in the shade Crown of My Canopy. I am so sorry that I am reviewing this so late since this was a 2016 summer edition, but but but they have decided to make this a permanent collection and I had to show you how beautiful it is. Getting your hands on this in real life still won’t be easy, but it will be worth it. So my recommendation is ordering online and I will provide links in the Price section.
There are only two shades, one is the one that I have (Crown of My Canopy) and the other, lighter, shade is Precious Petals. Since I am fair skinned, Precious Petals champagne color would probably suit me better, but I am not the one to complain. This peachy copper tone that I got is still a hit.
You can check out the details on the official site here
Now, on with the real review, I will let the pictures do the most of the talking.
Wet n Wild megaglo Highlighting Powder
Packaging - 9/10
Formula - 10/10
Longevity - 10/10
Price - 10/10
- Fine texture
This is the only section that I could deduct a point. Yes, the packaging is sturdy by itself and the powder inside is tightly packed. Yes, it has that adorable sticker that reminds us that Wet n Wild is cruelty-free. It contains 0.19 oz or 5.4 g of shimmering angel dust. The flower print is lovely and the lid is transparent so you can google it.
On the back are listed all ingredients as you can see in the photo below.
The only thing that I mind here (hence the point deducting) is the safety of the lid. It doesn’t click strongly. I can see it accidentally opening in my makeup bag or even breaking. And it probably won’t get better with time as I constantly open and close it. Other than that, it is functional thin packaging.
I believe that after the first look at the photo above, you will see that the formula is perfection! I swatched it on direct sunlight so it is a little lighter than in reality, but the point was that even though I zoomed in closely – no visible glitter specks are present. There are no chunks of glitter and there is not a hint of that ugly disco ball highlight that drugstore brands seem to love.
This highlighting powder is very finely milled, almost as your pressed powder foundation. Swatching it with a finger was a delight because of how buttery it felt. And you can easily build it from discrete shimmer to a blinding glow.
If you don’t like dipping your finger in, any brush will do – from lighter fan brushes to dense highlighter brushes. You will get a different look with different brushes, but you will not be left unimpressed. So much pigmentation, so little fallout, just lovely!
This is a category where I thought that this highlighter will fall back, but I was mistaken. This highlighter stays on my face for at least 6 hours and I can push 8 with no issues if I use a fixating spray and translucent powder combo. Of course, that doesn’t mean you can pick on your face or wipe it. Nevertheless, I have nothing to complain about in this category.
Like I said at the beginning, they are only $5, it can’t get much better than that. Unfortunately, you will have trouble finding it in physical stores so I recommend ordering online.
First logical choice is Wet n Wild official site.
However, they are often out of stock on the official site so I will leave two Amazon links for you Prices there are higher, but considering the starting price, it is still not much for a highlighter this good. Clickable links are down below.
Before you decide, just look at that hand swatch above.
